This programme is a unique offering in Ireland and has been specifically designed to meet the modern requirements of a construction manager in a rapidly evolving sector. The focus of this programme is on
contemporary challenges such as the implementation of lean management processes and proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. This programme is specifically targeted at those who wish to study part time while also working.
What will I experience?
You will be exposed to a range of modules that are most relevant to Construction Management. You will be taught by academic staff with current industrial experience and you will get direct exposure to relevant industrial practice.

Level 7 qualification in construction studies, construction management, civil engineering or related discipline. Candidates that do not meet the above criteria may be eligible for admission to the programme through the RPL (Recognized Prior Learning) route. (considered on an individual basis in accordance with the Institute’s policy on RPL).

The programme allows students to work and study in parallel. Delivered part time in a blended format, lectures will be online, with students attending the college for a number of one day workshops each semester.
Assessment information
Assessment is broad-based and will include design projects, case studies, interviews, presentations, etc.
Graduates of the programme will find roles in commercial management in construction organisations, with significant opportunities for advancement. This level 8 honours degree is an essential requirement for the modern construction professional. The skills developed
through this programme have been identified as in demand through recent published national reports and through direct consultation with industry carried out by TUS. Management capability, application of lean processes, use of ICT and awareness of building regulations are identified as the key skills shortages in the construction sector
