Last Updated: 07/Sept/23

Thank you for visiting the DASBE (Digital Academy for the Sustainable Built Environment) website (“us”, “we”, or “our”) and reviewing our privacy policy. The DASBE Project is committed to respecting and protecting your right to privacy and personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the DASBE Website and is a statement of the practices of the DASBE Project and describes how we govern the collection, use, and discovery of personal information received by us when you visit our website and related services (collectively, “Services”). Your personalised data will be used to process your order, support your experience throughout this website, and for other purposes described in our privacy policy. This statement also covers the steps taken by the DASBE Project to respect your privacy.

The DASBE Project is not responsible for the content or privacy practises of other websites which may be accessed via the website. The DASBE Project clearly identifies links to external websites, and it is your responsibility to satisfy yourself as to the adequacy of policies and practices of linked sites. A link to a third party’s website should not be construed as an endorsement by either DASBE or that third party of the other or its products and services. We recommend that you review the privacy statement of each third-party site linked from the website to determine their use of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, do not use our Services. By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Who We Are

Our website is also known as https://dasbe.ie . It functions as part of the DASBE Project.

What Data We Collect and Why We Collect It

We collect information about you in the following ways:

  • Information you provide to us: We collect information you provide to us directly, such as when you create an account, place an order, or contact us with a question or concern. This information may include your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide.
  • Information we collect automatically: Information on internet traffic is routinely collected by TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) and by its service providers (e.g., HEANet). This information is used to manage and troubleshoot the entire network (not only the DASBE Project). When you use our Services, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and your interactions with our Services. This information may include your IP (internet protocol) address, browser type, device information, operating system, and location data. We may also collect information about your usage of our website, such as the pages you visit, any purchasing activity, and the actions you take.
  • Information from third parties: We may receive information about you from third parties, such as social media platforms and other websites that you visit. For example, should you log into our Service using your Facebook account, we may collect your name and email address from Facebook.

Personal Information

We may collect personal identification information from users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when users visit our site, register on the site, place an order, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or credit card information. Users may, however, visit our site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information. This may prevent them from engaging in certain site-related activities.

Non-Personal Identification Information

We may collect non-personal identification information about users whenever they interact with our site. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, the type of computer and technical information about a user’s means of connection to our site, such as the operating system and the Internet service provider utilised, and other similar information.

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/ . After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
