DASBE is pleased to announce that ATU’s Building Information Modelling and Digital Leadership programmes, which receive DASBE funding support, have recently accredited by CABE, The Chartered Association of Building Engineers.
The advantage of accreditation is knowing that the course has been mapped to the CABE Framework and is therefore accredited by a professional association and is aligned to a competency framework. This will help graduates gain student membership and then further develop their career.
CABE were particularly impressed to see the level of industry involvement in both the development and the on-going delivery of these programmes. CABE also highlighted the innovative use of industry-led problems that are brought into the classroom by students and then considered as part of the curriculum.
The online platform was also noted, as it gives an exceptional student experience as both pastoral and academic support are easily accessible through a user-friendly interface. CABE also noted as exemplary, the fact that all industry talks, and delivery is recorded for asynchronous review
Another exemplary area, which was highlighted is the work-based project leading into the thesis, as the modules are based on a real-world problem emanating from the student’s own workplace. A CABE representative said that “This gives the modules relevance, currency, applicability and ensures that they are of real value to both the student and their business’.
