January 2023 Courses

As we are fast approaching 2030, we must focus more than ever on achieving our sustainability goals. That is why DASBE continuously try to anticipate and fulfil the industry skills needs by creating highly flexible and accessible courses.

DASBE is delighted to announce that we are introducing 14 brand-new courses beginning in January 2023. After the successful launch of several innovative courses in September, our university partners- TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) and ATU (Atlantic Technical University) have developed more much-needed courses in digital skills, energy efficiency and circular economy. As we are fast approaching 2030, we must focus more than ever on achieving our sustainability goals. The national decarbonization roadmap, launched by the IGBC (Irish Green Building Council), has once again noted how necessary it is for the construction professional to upskill. That is why DASBE continuously try to anticipate and fulfil the industry skills needs by creating highly flexible and accessible courses.

TUS Midwest will begin five new courses.

The Certificate in Residential Energy Retrofit Systems is a Special Purpose Award course. It is also the second part of the Higher Diploma in Residential Energy Retrofit Management (after obtaining this certificate and two other certificates in fabric and management you can exchange it for a Higher Diploma). It is made up of three modules and it is designed for building services professionals to develop knowledge and skills that allow them to design and deliver high-quality, energy-efficient service systems for retrofitting existing buildings while complying with Ireland’s latest Building Regulations.

Courses offered by TUS Midlands this January include a Certificate in Scan to BIM and a Higher Diploma in Engineering in Construction Data Capture and Analysis, a course designed to arm you with the knowledge and the practical skills for digital construction techniques, survey analysis and management of construction surveying. You will also have the opportunity to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Engineering or a Master of Engineering in Energy Engineering.

As always, changes are coming on the national and European levels for building regulations, policies and legislation for the built environment, all the while we are actively nearing our deadline for cutting the carbon emissions of the built environment by 50% by 2030. ATU (Atlantic Technological University) are launching nine new courses that range from building regulations to fire safety to energy efficiency and environmental services and building information modelling. Some of these courses, just like the courses provided by TUS, can be done individually or completed as part of a major award of a higher diploma, postgraduate diploma or even a master. As with the TUS courses, these are also designed to be as flexible and accessible to all construction professionals.

This January ATU offers

Certificate in Heat Pump Installation, Commissioning, Maintenance and Servicing

Certificate in Energy Conservation and Environmental Services

Certificate in Fire Safety Level 09

Higher Diploma in BIM

Higher Diploma in Engineering in Civil Engineering

Postgraduate Diploma in BIM and Digital Leadership
